Message from our President,

As the impact of COVID-19 increases across the globe, I wanted to explain the steps we’re taking to ensure continuity of customer service during the coming weeks. We aim to maintain the level of service that our customers expect from WebSan, as well as ensure that we keep our people safe. Additionally, we want to make sure our offices aren't helping to spread the virus. We’ve taken several steps to minimize the disruption over the coming period including restricting business travel, encouraging best hygiene practices and ensuring that people across all areas of our business are set up to work from outside the office.

Fortunately, we are a global business that is experienced in working with our customers remotely, over the phone or email, rather than in person, and as a result, we expect little disruption to your experience with us. We’ve built a business over the last 20 years that largely interacts with customers virtually – whether to implement our products, get support or get any assistance you might need from WebSan.

Like many organizations, we have had to change some of our plans. We won’t be running some of the face-to-face events that we had planned for the coming months, nor entertain onsite meetings, instead were using virtual events so our customers can still get access to resources and hear from our teams. This is a worrying time for everyone, but we hope with these measures in place that WebSan can be a company you can rely on during this pandemic.

Thank you for using WebSan.

Neal Santin,
President and Chief Technology Officer

HOW TO UPLOAD BUSINESS CARDS INTO DYNAMICS 365 FOR SALES

The best thing about Dynamics 365 for Sales is how easy it is to add a lead into the system. Since the only required fields to add a lead are Topic and the Last name this makes it quicker to add a lead into the system. It’s also common for prospects to provide their business cards which can get lost or misplaced amongst other piles of paperwork. With the help of Dynamics 365 for Sales a Business Card can be added into the Dynamics 365 for Sales for safe keeping. Follow the steps below to add a business card into the profile or a new lead or a new contact.

1. Ensure that you’ve been assigned the Common Data Service User role.

2. Login to the Dynamics 365 for Sales environment.

3. Click on the Quick Add Button on the top right navigation pane and click on Lead or Contact.

4. Once the Quick Create pop-up appears click on the Scan Business Card button.

5. If you are accessing Dynamics 365 for Sales using the web browser it will ask you to upload an image of the business card.

6. Select the business card you want to add into the system and then fill in all the missing information. Don’t forget that the only two *REQUIRED fields to create a lead are the Topic and Last Name in order to create a lead. All the other fields can be edited at a later date. Once you’ve filled in all the required information click on Save and Close.

7. So now if we go into our Leads on the right-hand side navigation pane, we can see that the lead has been added into Dynamics 365 for Sales.

8. If you open the newly added lead and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the profile that is where the Business Card is being stored.

What’s New November 2019 for Office 365?

Sheet View in Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel received a GA update which has been called Sheet View. When multiple people are working on a single database everyone is aware that someone made a change. Sometimes you might want to make an edit to make some additional changes for yourself, but you don’t want to disrupt what the other members are working on. You can filter and edit the data in the excel spreadsheet and then select if you want these changes viewable to yourself or to everyone else. If you select the option to make it just for me, you can save these results as a separate view that you can edit later.

Dark Mode for OneNote 2016

Dark mode is available on OneNote for Windows 10, OneNote for iPhone and OneNote for Mac it’s now available on OneNote 2016. If dark mode is already been setup with one of your office apps then OneNote will inherit the mode as well. This dark mode feature is available to all Office 365 subscribers.

November Update for Windows 10

The November updates for Windows 10 have been released. The 1909 version of Windows 10 offers new features such as the Windows Search Experience Explorer. If you wish to install this update search for the Windows Update Setting to download the update.

Microsoft Security

Microsoft has created 2 new security offering for its higher GCC clients.

Microsoft App Cloud Security: This service is all about offering the highest security for any Apps in the cloud. It provides insights as to who has access to the app and the data that is stored inside them.

Azure Threat Protection: This threat protection can strengthen the business against any possible threats. 90% of breaches are normally due to a previous identity compromise. With Azure Threat, Protection businesses can continue to enhance their security to protect their businesses. These services are available in the GCC high environment so then can contact their partner or a Microsoft representative access to these solutions.

Microsoft Forms

Microsoft Forms now offers a new question type where users can add files in their survey responses. Users will no longer have to follow up with the respondents that submit a survey. When a file is added to a survey it is saved in a OneDrive folder and which can later be tracked and analyzed.

Microsoft Endpoint Manager

Configuration Manager and Intune have been turned into a single product called Microsoft Endpoint Manager. The licensing for Microsoft End Point Manager has been combined to make Intune User Licenses available to Configuration Manager customers that are co-managing Windows 10 devices. This collaboration allows for Configuration Manager to connect to the cloud and allows users to start using Microsoft Endpoint Manager. Any workflows that are on either Android or Apple devices would require additional InTune device.

Sticky Notes

Microsoft has just released a Sticky Note integration for Microsoft Outlook on the web. Sticky Notes can be created or viewed from within Outlook on the web. This makes it easier than ever to quickly add in any of your new ideas or random thoughts all in one place.

Microsoft Productivity Score

Using the Microsoft Productivity score will give owners the tools needed to optimize their businesses with real data. Providing an insider look of where it currently stands in terms of productivity.
